Best Friend Maternity Session: Stephanie & Jacoba

I had the honor of capturing an incredibly special moment recently: a maternity photo shoot with two beautiful women, Stephanie (my sister!) and Jacoba, who are both expecting baby girls! There’s something so magical about pregnancy, and being able to document it for two best friends who are going through the experience together made this shoot even more meaningful.

Stephanie and Jacoba have been best friends for years, and seeing them share such a milestone in their lives together is heartwarming. Not only are they both glowing with the excitement of becoming mothers, but their bond as friends is truly inspiring. Their laughter, love, and support for each other were so evident throughout the shoot, and it was a reminder of how important it is to have a solid support system during such a life-changing time.

The idea of documenting their pregnancies together was so perfect, and we set out to make the day feel as relaxed and fun as possible. We chose a beautiful outdoor location that highlighted the natural beauty around them, allowing the soft sunlight to dance through the trees and create a dreamy atmosphere. The setting paired beautifully with the soft pastels and flowing dresses that Stephanie and Jacoba chose for their maternity shoot.

As a photographer, there’s something indescribably special about photographing people you love, and that was definitely the case with my sister, Stephanie. Watching her step into the role of a mother while carrying her daughter filled my heart with pride. And Jacoba, who has such a calm and joyful spirit, was equally radiant with her own pregnancy glow. It was a beautiful sight to witness these two amazing women, both pregnant and about to start the next chapter of their lives—together.

The session was filled with laughter, warm hugs, and moments of deep reflection as the two of them shared their excitement and anticipation about their babies. The bond between them was palpable, and I knew I was capturing something truly special.

I’m so grateful I was able to be a part of this experience, and I can’t wait to see both Stephanie and Jacoba embark on this new adventure of motherhood. It’s a privilege to have such amazing women in my life and to be able to preserve these memories for them.
