Sidedoor Wedding in the Byward Market: Matthew & Alexandra
As an Ottawa wedding photographer, I've documented weddings at many stunning venues, but when Alexandra told me they were planning to say "I do” at Sidedoor I knew this was going to be a celebration to remember! From the moment I arrived until the newlyweds raced off into their happily ever after, Sidedoor was lavish, enchanting and romantic.
As the bride had her hair and makeup done surrounded by her bridesmaids, I couldn't help but marvel at how elegant the getting ready space was! With its natural light and large getting ready space, it was perfect for taking photos! The groom's prep room was equally as amazing! I always advise couples to choose a space that has a large amount of space, so everyone can get ready comfortably, and The Lord Elgin absolutely delivered!
When I arrived for the ceremony, I amazed! Not only did it perfectly suit the dream wedding day Matthew and Alexandra had described to me from day one, but it also surprised me with how intimate the space felt. There was definitely no shortage of incredible spots for portraits, that's for sure! From the photos I took outside the venue in the courtyard but to the ones in the Byward Market, Matthew and Alexandra are going to have a crazy hard time choosing which ones to print and hang in their home! Then, off to the reception we headed!
Once the party kicked into high gear and the guests hit the dance floor, the reception space felt electric! Matthew and Alexandra’s wedding celebration was captivating, upbeat, and downright memorable.
