Autumn Family Session at Ma-Te-Way Park: The O’Brien’s

It was such a pleasure getting together with the O’Brien family to celebrate their newest addition! There’s something special about capturing those early moments with a growing family, and I was thrilled to be a part of it. We decided to meet at Ma-te-way Park, a beautiful location just outside of Renfrew, Ontario, which is perfect for family photos with its scenic surroundings and spacious grounds.

However, as is often the case with outdoor shoots, we had a bit of an unexpected challenge: rain! The weather decided not to cooperate during the first half of our session, so we had to delay for a bit to wait out the downpour. But despite the weather throwing us a curveball, we made the best of it. As any photographer will tell you, sometimes the most unexpected conditions can lead to the most memorable photos. After the rain stopped, the clouds broke, and the soft, diffused light that followed was absolutely perfect for capturing those intimate, candid family moments.

The O’Brien family was such a trooper through the delays and weather challenges, and we managed to get some truly wonderful shots despite the rain. The kids were full of energy, and it was so heartwarming to see the joy they shared with their new sibling. Moments like this, where the family bond is so clearly visible, make me love what I do even more.

I'm looking forward to meeting up again soon to finish the session and capture even more of this family’s beautiful story. There are still plenty of precious moments left to document, and I’m excited to continue creating memories for them! Stay tuned for more of the O’Brien family’s journey—they’re such a fun and loving crew!
