Cottage Engagement Session: Scott & Shelby

Spending time with Scott and Shelby at the family cottage on Lake Clear near Eganville was truly a refreshing experience. In the midst of everything that’s happened over the past few years, it felt so good to take a step back and just enjoy the beauty of the present moment. The pandemic has undeniably taken a toll on many aspects of life, including the wedding industry. For Scott and Shelby, like so many couples, the uncertain times led to the difficult decision to postpone their wedding. Yet, instead of letting this setback diminish their excitement, they embraced it as an opportunity to create new memories.

That’s where we come in. With their wedding plans on hold, it seemed only fitting to celebrate their engagement in a meaningful way. What better place than the family cottage, a serene and intimate setting where they’ve made so many cherished memories? It’s a place that holds significance to both of them, and the backdrop of the tranquil waters of Lake Clear made for the perfect setting to capture their love story.

We spent the day taking in the stunning scenery, snapping photos, and sharing laughs. There’s something so special about getting to document moments like these—when a couple is not just celebrating their future together, but also taking the time to appreciate the present. The cottage provided a peaceful escape, a place where they could be themselves without the stress of planning or the weight of uncertainty. It was a much-needed reminder of what truly matters—love, connection, and joy, no matter the circumstances.

While they may have had to delay their wedding day, there’s no doubt that Scott and Shelby’s journey together is already full of beautiful moments.
